When we started working side-by-side with service company owners to design our program, we had already had years of experience designing software applications for businesses in the communications, academic, and banking industries. We had observed and experienced the frustration felt by business owners who simply wanted to accomplish their everyday tasks as efficiently as possible, but instead were forced to waste time on "busy work" because of the way their business applications were designed. We were determined to solve that problem as we started to build FieldOne.
We had an outside consultant interview our customers recently; they told her that we have succeeded in meeting our goal. They said that FieldOne allowed them to spend much less time entering data, and more time actually doing the work that results in revenue. They are able to efficiently handle all of the day-to-day activities, involving technicians, materials, and accounting, without having to do extra work. They were able to spend more time helping customers and growing their field service businesses. They were more competitive than companies still struggling with inefficient software management systems.
FieldOne Systems software is now helping customers nationwide in industries such as HVAC, plumbing, janitorial, electric and construction, for their accounting, scheduling, dispatching, service calls, work orders, and purchasing. These companies are meeting high demand for their services and operating at much higher efficiency.
FieldOne Systems was founded by Shloma Baum in 2001. Shloma, who started out as a custom application programmer, has always had a passion for software that was both robust and intuitive. After several years of programming, he began to form an idea of what customers really needed in a business application program. He also realized that in order to deliver on that idea, he'd have to start his own company.
At about the same time, Shloma was approached by several business owners who needed software for their field service businesses. His own research of software for the field service industry convinced him that most owners had grown out of QuickBooks and were in desperate need of something more comprehensive and yet still easy to use. Shloma worked closely with field service business owners to develop FieldOne, and launched the product in 2005. Since then, Shloma and his development team have worked continuously to add functions requested by customers. But the basic application, according to its users, met its goal of being robust, intuitive, - and indispensable.
